Angie and Jes

Angela and myself (Jessica) have decided to do the following three images.

The first image we’ve chosen is this one. The way the photo is design created a senbse of symmetry, as this comes in in the fact that the eyes and arms could be considered to be part of similarity. The use of the colours that silhouette the character give the eye line of common fate to follow, which leads up into the focus of the image, which is the center fire, followed by the face. Not all of the character is detailed in the image, but again because of the colours that silhouette the character, a sense of closure is given, allowing us to understand that it is a humanoid figure. The shape and brightness of the fire in the center of her hands gives a sense of figure and ground because of the way the hands are highlighted and silhouetted.

The second image we chose was this logo. The continunation of the circles on the ‘O’ in on turns it from a letter into a speaker shape. The way the ‘O’ is angled is continued on again by the heightened of the right side of the ‘N’.  While, in our personal opinion it is not nessecarily a good design aspect, the fact that the ‘ON’ has a shadow behind it helps to give it depth. This in turn, also places the lower line of text in front of the ‘ON’. The repetition of the colour blue also helps to tie the image together.

Last image we choose was this CD cover. This CD cover has a lot of design elements contained within it, such as the fact that because each image is connnected by the black lines and surrounding geometric elements, therefore making them similar. Without this the images would not relate to each other as well. This is also helped by their very close proximity to each other, turning them into a group. The continunation of colour the colour red throughout the image helps to tie all of the elements together
