I’m Angie.
The image I’ve chosen on the right uses a combination of tone and line to give the illusion of shape to an originally flat design. The impression of a skull is very easy to determine even though the is actually no skull in the design.
I think this kind of design shows a great understanding of shape and the surface curve. The artist would also have to have a very clear vision for his end result.
