this picture demonstrated the similarity of form that it resembles a human figure and in the proximity of the lines that are grouped close together to evoke a pattern and within this paters is the common fate of the visual directional lines actually visualised to the pattern.
This image heavily relies on the proximity of the shapes to form the overall shape of the person. The shapes that have been broken away are all of similar shape, size, and colour, which reinforce the message that they have derived from the same object. The wavey lines in the background emphasise the common fate of the object. Continuation exists where the objects get smaller and more broken as their distance from the body increases.
The gears are closer towards the top of the image creating the effect of proximity. its all similarity through the basis of style as its visualy iconic of deco art style bringing unity to the piece. the rain is the common fate showing a directional flow within the piece giving the gears a sense of motion. their is continuation as all the gears are aranged in a line in size as they grow bigger and biger through the page. their is simple figure and ground with the background and gears.
