Hi GRD401! Nice work during the week – I am impressed at the level of referencing, which are generally following the academic guidelines now. If not, please update earlier posts asap, prior to marking your class input, etc.

What’s happening today?

  • After a brief introduction to modernism, I’ll ask you to pair-up to discuss certain art movements in detail, presenting your work from the blog to the rest of the class.
  • I will follow this up with a brief summary of modernism that has deeply informed graphic design practices, etc
  • Next, I’ll ask you to partner-up again to read through one of the graphic design books on show. Choose an article or inspiring work and write a pair blog about this, using academic (book) referencing practices.
  • There is also a tutorial exercise, which will need to be completed for homework.
  • The actual homework will be given-out in class, which is essentially a short research blog exercise, this time focused on post-modernism.
