Compositing/calendar

I composited the eight images into one final piece in photoshop, its story is rather unclear due to the uncommonness of the images. I did however come up with a background story for the final image, that it is set in a fantastical fairytale-like land where islands float in the sky and a zany cat who lives in a shabby house has a girl locked in a tall, old tower.

I took this idea and contrasted it in my calendar design where everything makes sense and days are represented by shapes and colours. I kept the layout simple and logically constructed, with plenty of room for writing notes and appointments. I tied the composited image in seamlessly by using it instead of a shape or colour to represent the weekend. I think this worked out well as it is not the kind of image that can be used in the background as it is too busy and distracting from the actual calendar element.
